Head Coach Hal Mumme

The Godfather of the wildly popular Air Raid Offense, Hal Mumme is an icon in the football coaching world. The branches of the Mumme tree includes names such as Mike Leach (Mississippi State-D1), Sonny Dykes (SMU-D1), Lincoln Riley (USC-D1), Dana Holgorsen (Houston-D1), Kliff Kingsbury (Arizona Cardinals-NFL), and Kevin Sumlin (Houston Gamblers-USFL).
After guiding Iowa Wesleyan and Valdosta State to national prominence in the 90’s, Mumme was named head coach at the University of Kentucky in 1997 and immediately made his mark by being the only head coach to lead Kentucky to a victory over Alabama in the past 100 years. His quarterback, Tim Couch, was a Heisman finalist and the #1 overall selection in the 1999 NFL Draft.
Since his time at Kentucky, Coach Mumme has been the head coach at SE Louisiana (D1), New Mexico State (D1), McMurry (D2), and Belhaven (D3). In addition, he has served as offensive coordinator at SMU (D1), and Jackson State (D1). In 2020, he was the offensive coordinator for the Dallas Renegades (XFL) under head coach Bob Stoops. Mumme was a head coach in The Spring League on Fox in 2021, leading the TSL Linemen to the Mega Bowl championship.
